Snow White is a German fairy tale (ATU 709). The Snow White fairy tale is in position 53 in the Brothers Grimm's children's and household fairy tales and is called Snow White. In the first edition of 1812, the translation into High German was given as Schneeweißchen (Low German Snee "snow", witt "white"), which then probably was changed to snow white and rose red because of equality. Ludwig Bechstein included it in his German fairy tale book as No. 51 Snow White (1845 No. 60). In the Brothers Grimm version from 1857 it is called Snow White and was number 53. The popular title is Snow White.
