Pucks Mistakes
Oberon also sees how badly Demetrius is treating Helena and tells Puck to put some magic juice on the young Athenian mans eyes to make him love her However Puck mistakes Lysander for Demetrius causing Lysander to wake up and fall deeply in love with Helena Instead of fixing the problem Puck tries to correct it and accidentally makes Demetrius fall in love with Helena too leaving both men chasing Helena while Hermia is completely abandoned
The Bottom Transformation
Meanwhile a group of local craftsmen are in the forest rehearsing a play for the Duke of Athens wedding Puck decides to play a prank on one of the actors named Nick Bottom turning his head into that of a donkey Puck then ensures that Titania wakes up right at that moment causing the fairy queen to fall madly in love with the donkey headed Bottom
Resolution
After enjoying the chaos Oberon decides that the joke has gone far enough He removes the spell from Titania corrects Pucks mistakes with the four lovers and restores Bottoms human head Lysander is returned to his love for Hermia while Demetrius remains in love with Helena satisfying the laws of Athens
Conclusion
The play ends with a grand triple wedding celebration back in Athens The actors finally perform their hilariously bad play and Puck closes the show by telling the audience that if they were offended by anything they should simply think of the entire performance as nothing more than a midsummer nights dream
